Well Properties: Log Curves Tab

The Log Curves tab displays information about log curves in the well database.

Log Curves List

This displays list of log curves associated with the selected well. Select a log curve to view or edit the parameters for the curve, and the values for the curve on the table to the right. Type a search string into the search bar to limit the information in the list. 

Name: The name of the log curves associated with the selected well.

Owner: The owner of the log curve.

Curve Type:  The type of log curve.

Description: A brief description of the log curve.

Log Curve Parameters

Select a log curve from the table to view or edit the parameters for that curve.

Name: The name of the currently selected log curve.


Null: The value that will be recognized as null when written in the Value column of the selected log curve table.

Source: The source of the log curve.  Sources can be used to manage data from different users.

Units: Units for the currently selected log curve.  If not defined in the LAS file they can be specified here.

Description: A description of the currently selected log curve.

Owner:The owner of the currently selected log curve.

Type: The type of log curve.  It is best to categorize the log curve to improve interaction with the Seismic Viewer.

Selected Log Curve Table

This table will show the curve values of the currently selected well. You can edit the curve values, and Insert, Append, and Delete rows using the shortcut menu, accessed by right clicking on the Row column. Save these changes by clicking . When you select a raster log, this table will not be available.

Depth: The measured depth of the log curve at the given row.

Value: The raw value of the log curve at the given row.

Log Curve Operations

Update:Write any modifications made to the currently selected curve to the database.  You cannot modify the name.

Generate Velocity Curve: Open the Generate Velocity Curve dialog after selecting a sonic or density curve.

Copy To: Open the Copy Log Curve To Wells dialog after selecting one or multiple curves from the log curves list.

Delete: Delete the currently selected log curve or curves from the database.  In order to delete rows of values use the right mouse button menu on the Row column of the grid displaying the curve values.
