Horizon Properties: Menus

The Horizon Properties menus let you access editing tools, including copying horizons, and let you open additional applications to help manage and manipulate your horizons. Most of the options available in the Horizon Properties menus can be accessed by right clicking in the main area and selecting from the shortcut menu, or by using an icon on one of the toolbars.

Horizon Properties Menu Options

File

Import: Launch the Horizon Import dialog.

Export:Launch the Horizon Export dialog.Save As:Save the Horizon Properties table to a text file.

Print:Print the Horizon Properties table.

Print Preview: Launch a Print Preview for the Horizon Properties table.

Print Setup: Launch your printer dialog.

Exit: Close the Horizon Properties window.

Edit

Activate: Changes any selected horizons to become active. Only active horizons will appear in other dialogs.

Inactivate: Changes any selected horizons to become inactive. Only active horizons will appear in other dialogs.

Delete:Delete the currently selected horizons.  A dialog will pop up to confirm that you wish to delete the horizons.  You can also delete horizons by selecting them and hitting the Delete key.

Copy: Copy the currently selected horizon to an internal buffer for duplication using the paste function.  This function can also be accessed using the hot key combination Ctrl+C.  This is very useful when you wish to perform some test edits on a horizon without modifying the original data.

Paste:Paste the horizon copied with the copy function into the project. This function can also be performed using the hot key combination Ctrl+V.If you are copying your own horizon, it will get the suffix "- Copy".  For example if you copy and paste Horizon 1 the copy will be named Horizon 1 - Copy. If you are copying someone another owner's horizon, the horizon will retain the original name, but have a different owner.

Rename:Makes the name of the currently selected horizon editable.  Edit the name in place and hit return to rename the horizon.  A single horizon must be selected.  You can also rename a horizon by double clicking on the name of the horizon, or by changing it in the toolbar.

Save As Filter: Create a filter based on the selected horizons.

Select All: A quick way to select all the horizons.  This function can also be performed using the hot key combination Ctrl+A.

View

Invert Selection: Inverts the currently selected items in the properties dialog.  If an item is selected it will be deselected, and if an item has not been selected it will be selected.

Refresh:Reload the list in the property dialog.  It may happen that this list is not up to date.  Using this item will update the list.  This can also be accessed using the F5 hot key.

Properties Toolbar, Toolbar, Status Bar: Toggle these on and off to display the respective toolbars.

Displayed Columns: Open the Set Displayed Columns dialog box and select the columns that you want to appear in selection lists throughout the project. Note: If you select the Color column for display you can change the color of the horizon directly from the selection list by clicking on the color box.

Tools

Pick: Launch the Pick Horizons dialog.

Data Filters: Launch the Data Filters application.

Calculator: Launch the Horizon Calculator.

Clear: Launch the Horizon Clearing application.

Snap/Extract:Launch the Horizon Snap/Extractapplication that allows you to snap horizons to an event and extract amplitudes.

Transfer: Launch the Horizon Transfer application that allows you to transfer horizons from one seismic dataset to another.

Brick:Launch the Horizon Brick to create bricked horizons.

Smoothing/Attributes:Launch the Horizon Smoothing/Attributes application. This application allows you to smooth existing horizons.

Merge Horizons:Launch the Merge Horizons application that allows you to merge two horizons into a single horizon.

Graph: Launch the Horizon Graph application which allows you to graph multiple horizons.

Grid and Contour: Launch the Grid and Contourapplication to grid and contour your horizons.

2D Auto Picker: Launch the 2D Auto Picker that allows you to automatically batch pick horizons on 2D lines.

3D Auto Picker: Launch the 3D Auto Picker that allows you to automatically batch pick horizons on 3D lines.

Import: Launch the Horizon Import tool.

Export: Launch the Horizon Export tool.

Options: Launch the Options dialog.

  Enable bricking for 3D horizons: When turned on, all new horizons will be bricked.

 

Shortcut Menu

The shortcut menu can be accessed by right clicking in the table area of Horizon Properties. You can access most horizon functionality from this menu.
