2D Modeling: Menus

The 2D Modelingmenus are available at the top of the 2D Modeling window. Many of the menu options are also available using the shortcut menus, or by using the icons found on the 2D Modeling toolbars

2D Modeling Menu Options

File Menu

New Cross Section:Create a new cross section containing no wells.

Load Cross Section:Load a saved cross section.

Save Cross Section:Save a cross section, including wells, correlations, and display settings.

Load Properties:Load a saved properties file, including the Model Properties, Cross Section Properties, and General Track Properties. To restore all properties, including track properties, you need to save and load a complete cross section.

Save Properties:Save the cross section properties to a file, including the Model Properties, Cross Section Properties, and General Track Properties. To save all properties, including track properties, you need to save a complete cross section.

Load Display Model Properties: Save current display model properties to a file.

Save Display Model Properties: Load a saved display model properties file.

Load Log Template: Load a saved log template. This will be applied to all of the wells in your cross section. You can save a log template by right clicking on a UWI in the Cross Section window and selecting Save Log Template from the shortcut menu, or from the File menu in the Log Editor.

Load Well Template: Load a well template created in the Well Template Designer. Note: these templates were created for use in the Cross Section Viewer and do not have all the same properties as the Log Editor. Only common available settings will be loaded.

Select Wells: Open the Select Wells dialog box, and select the wells to display in the cross section. You can also re-order and delete wells from this dialog box.

Save Tops:Save all new correlations as well tops. The source of these new tops are specified in the Correlation dialog box.

Print: Print the current cross section. The standard Windows print dialog will appear, allowing you to specify the printer and the number of pages to print.

Print Preview: Launch the print preview for the current cross section.  To change the display, open the Print Properties dialog () from this window.  

Page Setup: Select the printer, paper size, and orientation.

 Print properties: Launch the Print Properties dialog.  

Print to Bitmap File: Save the current cross section display as a bitmap image.

Edit Menu

General Track Properties: Open the General Track Properties to adjust the properties that are common for all of the tracks in the section.

Cross Section Properties: Open the Cross Section Propertiesdialog box to adjust the properties of the cross section, including map scale and flattening.

Model Properties: Open the Model Propertiesdialog box to adjust the properties of the model, including map scale, time scale, sample rate, etc.

View Menu

Fit Data: Adjust the vertical zoom to display the entire depth range.

 Zoom Vertically: Zoom all tracks vertically.

Restore Previous Zoom: Restore the view to the previous zoom.

Reset Model Opacity:Make the model window fully opaque if it was made completely transparent in error.

Large Icons:Turn large toolbar icons on or off.

Standard Toolbar:Turn the Standard Toolbar on and off.

Zoom Toolbar: Turn the Zoom Toolbar on and off.

Track ToolbarTurn the Track Toolbar on and off.

Section Toolbar: Turn the Section Toolbar on and off.

Status Bar: Turn the status bar at the bottom of the screen on and off.

Tools Menu

Add Track: Add a log curve track to your well display using the Select Curve Aliasdialog box. To change the setting for the curve after it has been inserted, right click on the curve and select Track Propertiesfrom the shortcut menu. 

Add Synthetic Track: Add a synthetic track to your well display using the Synthetic Properties dialog box. To change the settings for the synthetic after it has been inserted, right click on the curve and select Track Propertiesfrom the shortcut menu. 

Add Velocity Track: Add a velocity curve track to your well display. By default, the active velocity curve will be displayed. To change the settings for the velocity curve after it has been inserted, right click on the curve and select Track Propertiesfrom the shortcut menu. 

Add Seismic Track: Add a seismic track to your well display using the Seismic Propertiesdialog box. To change the setting for the seismic track after it has been inserted, right click on the track and select Track Propertiesfrom the shortcut menu.

Set Displayed Tops: Open the Display Topsdialog box, and select the tops that you want displayed on your cross section.

UWI  Shortcut Menu 

Right click on the UWI and select from the available options.

Launch Log Editor: Launch the Log Editor application.

Launch Well Properties: Launch the Well Properties window to view details for the selected well.

Apply Log Template: Apply the template for the current well to all wells in the section.

Save Log Template: Save the template for the current well to a file that can be used in the 2D Modeling and Log Editor applications.

Track Shortcut Menu Options

Right click any track and select from the available options.

General Track Properties: Open the General Track Properties for all wells.

Track Properties: Open the properties window for the log curve, velocity curve, synthetic, or seismic track. This option is not available for the tops or depth track.

Delete Track: Delete the selected track.
