Horizon Properties

The Horizon Properties window allows you to view a list of horizons that exist within your SeisWare project, determine the lines they are associated with, edit the properties of those horizons, copy horizons, and delete horizons.

The Horizon Properties window has menus and toolbars to help you accomplish these tasks:

General Information

Main Area

Horizons, and their properties, are displayed in columns, which you can sort by clicking on the column heading, and re-order by dragging the column heading to a new position. Access horizon tools by right clicking in the table area, from the menus, or using the toolbars.  Double click on a horizon to view the Horizon Detailed Properties, which will tell you which lines the horizon has been picked on.

Columns

Horizon Name:Includes the name and color of the horizon.

Owner: The owner of the horizon.

Description: A user supplied text description for the horizon.

Type: Specifies the type of the horizon. Types of horizons are:

  • Peak
  • Trough
  • Zero Crossing
  • Peak/Trough Zero Crossing
  • Trough/Peak Zero Crossing
  • Computed Structure
  • Computed Amplitude

Pick Mode: Specifies the mode used when picking the horizon.

Search Mode: Specifies to search when snapping to an event. This will be either Closest or Largest. The search mode is only meaningful for Peak and Trough horizons.

Search Gate: Specify a time range in milliseconds to constrain the search when snapping to events. The search gate is applied above and below the data, so a value of 20 will search 20 ms above and 20 ms below the pick.

Active: Indicates whether the horizon is currently active. Horizons that are not active will not appear in dialogs. Making horizons inactive will help to reduce the clutter in projects with many horizons.
