Log Editor

The Log Editor is used to display log curves, velocity curves, formation tops and seismic data. Within this application you can edit log curves, edit and add formation topsedit and add zones, generate synthetics, and tie log curves to seismic data.

Main Area

Wells

To display curve information for a specific well, select the well from the Wells list. If listening is enabled () you can make a well selection from the Basemap or Seismic Viewer, otherwise click on a well in the list. To help you make your well selection, you can sort the columns, you can apply a filter, or you can type a search string into the search bar to limit the list based on UWI, Name, or Owner information.

For additional selection and navigation options right click on the Wells list to access the shortcut menu.

The width of this area can be changed by moving the mouse to the small area between the well list and the depth track. When the cursor changes to a vertical bar with two arrows, left click and drag the mouse to the left or right to make the window bigger or smaller.

 or  Listen to Well Selections: When listening is turned on () you can select wells from the Basemap and Seismic Viewer. You may want to turn this off once you have selected your well so that you aren't changing your Log Editor display as you do other work within the software.

Log Curves

This section lists all of the log curves that are associated with the selected well, and allows you to quickly add a curve to any  log curve track. To add a curve to a track, left click on the curve name and drag it into an existing track.

To make your curve selection easier you can sort any of the columns, or type a search string into the search bar to limit the list based on NameOwner, or Source information.

Tracks

Tracks can contain log curve, velocity curve, synthetic, depth, formation top, and seismic data. A label at the top of the track indicates what is displayed within it. Use the shortcut menu in each track to alter its properties, save edited curves, or delete the track.

To resize a track Move your mouse to the area between tracks. When the cursor changes to a vertical bar with 2 arrows, left click and drag the mouse to the left or right to resize the track.
To move a track Left click on the track label, and drag the track to its new position. 
To delete a track Right click on the track, and select Delete Track from the shortcut menu. Remove the Tops track from the General Track Properties. You can't delete the Depth track.
