Log Editor: Menus
The Log Editor menus
let you
access the tools needed to save tracks and displays, and edit your
curves. Many of the tools can also be accessed using toolbar icons, and shortcut
menus.
Log Editor Menus
File
New
Template:Create
a new template. Your display will
have no curve or synthetic tracks displayed.
Save
Template: Save the current display as
a template.
Load
Template: Load a saved template.
Load
Default
Template: Load
a standard template. Choose between Geophysical and Geological, and
then select Metric,
Imperial,
or Automatic.
Load Well Template: Load a well template created in the Well Template Designer. Note: these templates were created for use in the Cross Section Viewer and do not have all the same properties as the Log Editor. Only common available settings will be loaded.
Print: Print
the display for the current well. The standard Windows print
dialog will appear, allowing you to specify the printer and
the
number of pages to print.
Print Preview: Launch
a print preview for the current well. To change the display, open the Print
Properties dialog (
) from
this window.
Page Setup: Select the printer, paper size, and orientation.
Print

Exit: Close the application.
Edit
General
Track Properties: Open the General
Track Properties dialog box, used to adjust the
general settings for all tracks in the Log Editor window.
Undo: Each
click will
undo one previous operation.
Undo All: This will undo all prior operations up to the last save.
Redo:Click
this to
re-apply an operation that you have undone.
Cut:After
a portion of the curve has been selected with the Select
icon
,
use
this
to remove that curve
portion and place it into the clip board. This may then be
pasted
into
another curve.
Copy: After
a portion of the curve has been selected with the Select
icon
,
use this
to copy that curve
portion and place it into the clip board. This may then be
pasted into
another curve.
Paste: Paste a
portion of a curve that has been copied or cut. The
region that the curve was cut or copied from will be displayed. You can
simply click on it to paste it at the default location, or click and
drag it to where it should be pasted.
Tools
Add
Track:
Add a log curve track to
your well display using the Select Curve Alias dialog
box. To change the setting
for the curve after it has been inserted, right click on the curve and
select Track
Properties from
the
shortcut menu.
Add
Synthetic Track:
Add a synthetic
track to your well display using the Synthetic Properties
dialog box.
To change the settings for the synthetic after it has been inserted,
right click on the curve and select Track
Properties from
the
shortcut menu.
Add
Velocity Track:
Add a velocity curve track to your well display. By default, the active
velocity curve will be displayed. To change the settings for
the
velocity curve after it has been inserted, right click on the curve and
select Track
Properties from
the
shortcut menu.
Add
Seismic Track: Add a seismic track to your well display
using the Seismic Properties dialog
box. To change the setting for the seismic track after it has been
inserted, right click on the track and select Track
Properties from
the shortcut menu.
Set Displayed Tops: Open the Display Tops dialog box, and select the tops that you want displayed on your cross section.
Edit
Well
Tops:Change
or delete existing tops or add new tops.
Set Displayed Zones: Open the Display Zones dialog box, and select the zones that you want displayed on your cross section.
Edit
Well
Zones:Change
or delete existing zones or add new zones.
Curve
Calculator: Open
the Curve
Calculator for the
selected well.
Well
Properties: Open the Well
Properties window
to see the properties for the selected well.
Merge
Logs: Open
the Merge Logs tool,
used to merge two or more log curves from the current well
into a single log curve.
Bulk Apply Depth Shift Tables: Open the Bulk Apply Depth Shift Tables tool, used to apply a depth shift table to multiple curves for a selected well.
View
Fit Data: Adjust
the vertical zoom to
display the entire depth range.
Vertical
Zoom: Zoom the display vertically.
Zoom
In: Zoom a track vertically and
horizontally. All of the tracks will have the vertical zoom
applied.
Zoom Out: Zoom out vertically by 50%.
Previous Zoom: Restore the previous
zoom.
Large Icons: Turn on large icons on the toolbars.
Standard Toolbar: Turn the Standard Toolbar on and off.
Zoom Toolbar: Turn the Zoom Toolbar on and off.
Track Toolbar:Turn the Track Toolbar on and off.
Edit Toolbar:Turn the Edit Toolbar on and off.
Status Bar: Turn the Status Bar at the bottom of the screen on and off.
