Cross Plot: Toolbars

The toolbars in the Cross Plot  application are a quick way to access the tools you need to create a cross plot, change the scale of the display, and select and analyze data. You can turn the toolbars on and off from the View menu.

Toolbar

The primary Toolbar has options for saving, loading, and printing display, as well as options for changing the scale of the display.

Load: Load a saved cross plot.

Save: Save the current cross plot including the properties.

Print: Print the graph as it appears in the main display window.

Print Preview: Open the Print Preview window.

Help: Open the Help files.

Define Home: Remember the current scale settings. Use the GoTo Home icon to restore these settings.

Goto Home: Restore the scale settings defined as home.

 Fit to Window: Adjust the scale to fit all data inside the window.

Fit Horizontal Axis to Window: Scale the X axis to fit all data horizontally within the window.

Fit Vertical Axis to Window: Scale the Y axis to fit all data vertically within the window.

Set Scale Range: Enter the exact data range for the X or Y axis.

Zoom In: Select a rectangular are to fill the display window.

Zoom Previous: Restores the previous scale settings.

Zoom Out: Scales out to allow two times the area to be shown.

Scroll Window: Enter scroll mode to click and drag the data in the window to a new position.


Secondary Toolbar

  Add New Axis: Add a new cross plot to the main display window. By default, this will create a new tab in the Plot Definition dialog box. The new plot will appear in the Legend dialog box one the minimum number of options have been selected.

Add New Trend Line: Add a new trend line to the cross plot from the Trend dialog box.

Add New Polygon: Add a new polygon to the cross plot from the Polygons dialog box.

Redraw: Redraw the data currently displayed in the window.

Reload: Reload the data and redraw the window.

Legend: Turn the Legend dialog box on or off. When printing, if you want to see the legend, ensure that this is on.

Select Rectangular Area:Select data points using a rectangle. The data points will appear in the Highlight Marker Color. Note: This is not a saved polygon. To permanently save this polygon, click the Add New Polygon icon .

 Select Via Polygon: Select data points using a polygon. Left click to add points, and right click to finish the selection. The data points will appear in the Highlight Marker Color. Note: This is not a saved polygon. To permanently save this polygon, click the Add New Polygon icon .

Edit Polygon: Change the shape of a selection polygon. Move your cursor within the polygon to drag it to a new location. Place your cursor on a vertex and drag to a new location.

Delete Selected Points: Remove the selected point from the cross plot display.

General Properties: Open the General Properties dialog box to set the general display properties including background and highlight colors.

Status Bar

The status bar appears at the bottom of the window, and displays information related to the position of your cursor within the graph. From left to right the status bar displays the following:

  • The X and Y location of the cursor. 

  • The well (UWI) or seismic line information for the marker closest to the cursor. This is only active when Display Tracking is turned on in the General Properties dialog box.

  • The label for the X axis and the X value associated with the marker closest to the cursor. This is only active when Display Tracking is turned on in the General Properties dialog box.

  • The label for the X axis and the X value associated with the marker closest to the cursor. This is only active when Display Tracking is turned on in the General Properties dialog box.

  • The label for the color applied to the marker closest to the cursor and its associated value. This is only active when Display Tracking is turned on in the General Properties dialog box.
