HDFS/SEG-Y Converter

The HDFS/SEG-Y Converter is used to convert 3D seismic files between SEG-Y and HDFS (Hierarchical Data Format) formats. Currently, a file that is converted to HDFS format can't be used in any SeisWare applications; however, you can find out more information about this future technology, and download a file viewer, on the HDF Group website.

ClosedHow do I convert a SEG-Y file to HDFS format?

  1. Click , and select the 3D SEG-Y (*.sgy) file that you want to convert.

  2. Set the Chunk Size.

  3. Click  to convert the file.

The converted file will be placed in the project folder, and retain the original file name, with the extension H5.


General Information

3D Seismic Files

Select the 3D seismic file you want to convert.

Files...: Open a file browser to select files you want to convert. The default file types are *.sgy and *.H5.

Remove All: Remove all files from the list of files.

Remove: Remove selected files from the list of files.

Output Parameters

Enter the parameters when you are converting to HDFS format.

Chunk Size: Enter a chunk size to be applied in the Line, Trace and Sample directions.
