Data Pipeline
The Data Pipeline allows you to retrieve data from
various
configured
databases. You can select from general well information,
directional surveys, well tops, log curves, velocity curves, synthetics
and culture data,
depending on the data source. The connections for the data pipeline may
need to be configured
the first time. You can configure the connection by clicking
.

Select the Data Source from which to retrieve the data from and configure the database connection. Login by entering the User ID and Password for the Data Source.

Select the Data Types to import and specify the coordinate system to convert the data to. Well data can be retrieved by using the existing wells in the project or selecting a geographical region. If the data needs to be converted, specify the source and destination zones here.

Select the Wells to be used from the list and move them from the Available Wells to the Selected Wells. If you were using a WSN list on the previous screen, the wells should already be selected.

Select the General Well Information to import from the available list.

Select the Formations to import from the available list.

Select the Sources to import from the available list.

Use the Formation Mappings dialog to assign the incoming formation name, which can be selected from the drop down list of formations selected, a SeisWare formation name, which can be selected from the drop down list of formation names in the current SeisWare project or can be typed in.

Specify the Seismic Datum and the units (feet or meters) to use for the project. Changing this will affect all wells in the project.

Select the Culture to import from the available list. Assign the layer a Type and give it a Layer Name.

Click
to Import the
data.

Configure: This
button allows
you to configure the
database connection that will
be used for this data source.
Load
Settings:This button
allows you to load a previously saved session. By simply hitting the
next button until you get to the final page, everything should have
defaulted to the last saved session. You can still change any setting
along the way, before importing/exporting the data.Login Information
Login information is not required for all Data Source types.
Password:Specify the password for the database with. If using a database that does not require a password (like Access), this may be left blank.

Next: When
you select next, a database connection will be attempted. If you
cannot connect to the selected
data source, then a message will appear and you will not be able to
advance to the next screen.
