View Menu

The View menu allows you to customize the appearance and behavior of the Main Launcher.

View Menu Options

• Always on Top:  Turn this on so that the Main Launcher is always the topmost window on your desktop.
• Toolbar: Turn this on to display the main toolbar on the Main Launcher .
• User and Role Bar: Turn this on to display the User and Role Bar.
• Project and Session Bar: Turn this on to display the Project and Session Bar.
• Status Bar: Turn this on to show the status bar at the bottom of the Main Launcher.
• License Bar: Turn this on to select which license component you'd like to automatically use in a project.
• Large Icons: Turn this on to use larger icons everywhere in your SeisWare project.
• Dock: Enable docking  for the Main Launcher , and select the dock location.
• Top: Dock the Main Launcher at the top of your main desktop display.
• Bottom: Dock the Main Launcher at the bottom of your main desktop display.
• None: Allow the Main Launcher to float.
  
  

Toolbar

The Launcher toolbar lets you quickly open and create projects, save sessions, dock your launcher window, and access Help files.

Open Project: Open the Open Project dialog so you can select from a list of existing projects.

New Project: Open the Create New Project dialog so you can create a new SeisWare project.

Save Session: Open the Save Session As dialog so you can save your properties and displays, to a session.

Dock Main Launcher: Dock to the top or bottom of your main desktop display. The location is determined from the Dock item in the View menu.

SeisWare Help: Opens the Help files.

User and Role Bar

The User and Role Bar lets you see the Current User of the project, their Current Role and the user that they are impersonating. You can change the Current Role and Impersonating fields if you have the right permissions, otherwise these will be grayed out.

Current User: The user currently logged into the project.

Current Role: The role of the Current User. When you launch the software this will be the default role, set in the Detailed Properties dialog, and can only be changed if other roles are allowed.

Impersonating: The user that the Current User is impersonating. Administrators and Data Managers can impersonate other users so that any work they generate will belong to another user. 

Project and Session Bar

The Project and Session Bar lets you select the project that you want to work on, and the specific session that you want to use.

Current Project: This will display the name of the project that you are currently using. When you first open the software this field will be blank. Click on the arrow to select from a list of available projects to open. If you don't see the project that you want to open, you need to attach to the project, or create a new project.

Current Session: This will display the session that you are currently using. When you first select a project from the Current Project list, your default session will be displayed. Click on the arrow to select from a list of available sessions to open. To change your default session, open Session Properties.

 

License Bar

The License Bar lets you select the license component that you want to automatically use when in projects. Note: if changed, the change won't take effect till you open or reopen a project.

Default License: This will display the license component that you want to automatically use when in project. The default is <Any> which means SeisWare will grab the first license it finds available. Use the drop-down to see a list of available license components for your organization and to select which component you would prefer to use when in SeisWare.
