License Utility
This License Utility allows you to update and configure your SeisWare licenses.
Action Code
The Action Code is a code used to manually update a license when it is renewed, and can be obtained from a SeisWare representative.
Update
License: Update
the license with a new
expiry date derived from the Action Code.
Computer Information
This area displays information about the local computer, which can be used to set up reserved licenses.
Computer Name: The name of the local computer.
Mac Address: The Mac Address of the local computer. This is a unique hardware ID that can be used to set up reserved licenses.
License Service
The status for the license service when using a parallel port dongle only. Note: This information is not meaningful for USB license keys, or floating licenses using a remote license server.
Status: The status of the license service. The status will be "Running" when the parallel port license key is working correctly.
Start:
Start the parallel port license
service. This may be necessary the
first time the license is attached to your computer.
Stop:
Stop
the parallel port license service. You will need to stop the
license service before removing or replacing a parallel port license
key.
USB Dongle Control
Safely
Remove
Dongle: Click this button before physically removing a USB license
key from your machine. Failure to perform this action could
result in the license key becoming inoperative. You will need
to
exit all SeisWare applications
before performing this action. This operation is not necessary
for
parallel port dongles.
License Information:
This area displays information about the license being accessed from the local machine.
Read
License:
When the License Information fields are unpopulated, click this button to retrieve the license information. If the area remains unpopulated, click
to open the License Configuration window, and ensure that the license on the local machine has been correctly configured.

Non-expiring: The license is a permanent license

Local with expiry: The license is a local (non-floating) license.

Floating with expiry: The license is a floating license.
Expiry
Date:
The date the current license expires separated by Year, Month, and Day.
Number of Licenses: The number of available licenses for each component.
Component: A list of components available to be licensed.
Update From The
Internet:
Click this button to
manually check the Internet
for any updates to the license key. These include changes to
the
expiry date or number of licenses. This option can only be
used on
the machine that the license key is physically attached to.
Detailed Information
Open additional window to configure and view your SeisWare licenses.
Configuration:
Open the License Configuration window to display or modify the licensing information for the local mach.
Floating
Licenses:
Open the License Viewer window to display information about the floating licenses currently in use.
Reserved
Licenses:
Open the Reserved Licenses window to display and configure the reserved licenses associated with your floating license. You can only edit reserved from the remote license server (the machine housing the floating license).
