Culture Properties: Menus

Most options that are available from the top menu in the Culture Properties can also be accessed by right clicking in the main area or by using an available icon.

Culture Properties Menu Options

File

Link:Launch the Link Culture application.

Import: Launch the Culture Import application.

Export: Launch the Culture Export application.

Save As: Save the Culture Properties table to a text file.

Print:Print the Culture Properties table.

Print Preview: Launch the Print Preview for the Culture Properties table.

Print Setup: Launches your printer dialog.

Exit: Close the Culture Properties window.

Edit

Activate: Make selected culture layers active. Only active layers will appear in other dialogs.

Inactivate:Make selected culture layers inactive. Only active layers will appear in other dialogs.

Change Layer Properties:Select this item to bring up the Change Layer Properties dialog.  This dialog allows you to change various properties of each object within the culture layer.  This dialog can also be accessed by double clicking on a culture layer in the main culture properties view.

Delete:Delete the currently selected culture layers.  A dialog will pop up to confirm that you wish to delete the layers.  You can also delete layers by selecting them and hitting the Delete key.

Copy:Copy the currently selected culture layers to an internal buffer for duplication using the paste function.  This function can also be accessed using the hot key combination Ctrl+C.  This is very useful when you wish to perform some test edits on a culture layer without modifying the original data.

Paste: Paste the culture layers copied with the copy function into the project.  Culture layers will get the suffix "- Copy".  For example if you copy and paste layer twp the copy will be named twp: Copy. This function can also be performed using the hot key combination Ctrl+V.

Rename:Makes the name of the currently selected culture layer editable.  Edit the name in place and hit return to rename the layer.  A single layer must be selected.  You can also rename a layer by double clicking on the name of the culture layer.

Save As Filter: Create a filter based on the selected culture layers.

Select All:A quick way to select all the culture layers.  This function can also be performed using the hot key combination Ctrl+A.

View

Show Generic Layers Only:This allows you to hide all but generic layers in a project.  If this item has a check mark next to it you will only see generic layers.  If there is no check mark next to this item you will see all the culture layers.  Selecting this item can be useful when assigning types to generic layers in a project.

Invert Selection:Inverts the currently selected items in the properties dialog.  If an item is selected it will be deselected, and if an item has not been selected it will be selected.

Refresh: Reload the list in the property dialog.  It may happen that this list is not up to date.  Using this item will update the list.  This can also be accessed using the F5 hot key.

Properties Toolbar, Toolbar, Status Bar:Toggle these on and off to display the respective toolbars.

Displayed Columns: Open the Set Displayed Columns dialog box and select the columns that you want to appear in selection lists throughout the project.

Tools

Data Filter Manager: Launch the Data Filter Manager application.

Link:Launch the Link Culture application.

Merge:Launch the Merge Culture application.

Import: Launch the Culture Import tool.

Export:Launch the Culture Export tool.

Shortcut

The shortcut menu can be accessed by right clicking in the table area of Culture Properties. You can access most culture functionality from this menu.
