Saving Filters

Filters can be created from the properties dialogs, from Basemap selections, as well as from the shortcut menus in most selection lists. Once a filter is created it can be viewed, edited, or applied from the Data Filters window. It can also be used to limit the data displayed in selection lists to help you make selections.

ClosedHow do I create a filter from a Properties window?

  1. Select your data, using the Ctrl key to select multiple items.

  2. Click the Save As Filter icon ().

  3. Enter a Filter Name or use the default  name.

  4. Select Replace Local Data Filter to apply the filter immediately to the project.

  5. Click .

Filter Name

Filter Name: Enter the name of your filter. You can select from existing filters to replace or edit it.

Save Options

Apply Filter: Turn this on to apply this filter to your project, or to the current dialog.

All Dialogs: Turn this on to create a data filter, and apply the filter to your project. To remove or edit the filter you need to open the Data Filters window.

Current Dialog: Turn this on to create a data filter, and apply the filter to your current selection list. This filter will be available to you in the Data Filters window, but will not be applied to your project.
