Link Culture
The Link Culture application allows the user to link to a
Shapefile, an ArcSDE layer, or a SeisWare culture file. Linking allows
you to use a culture file
from another location which will be read every time a culture layer is
displayed. This allows you to only maintain one set of culture instead
of importing the same culture file into a variety of projects.
-
Select the Input Data by creating or updating a link to an ESRI shape file, an ESRI SDE layer, or a SeisWare culture layer. These linked layers will be read every time a culture layer is displayed and so any new or modified information in these layers will automatically be used. When linking to an ERSI SDE layer, you first need to configure where the ERSI software is located. To do this, set the appropriate directory in the Configuration panel, located under the Project menu in the Main Launcher .
-
Specify the Coordinate Systems for either the source or destination or both. There is also the ability to convert between latitude/longitude.
-
Specify the Extents to optionally limit the culture to a specific geographical region or objects found within a polygon.
-
Add Text Labels for the linked layer. More than one label can be selected. Note: This is not available when linking to a SeisWare layer.
-
Modify the Display Settings to alter how individual objects within the linked layer will be displayed. Note: This is not available when linking to a SeisWare layer.
-
Assign the layer a Name and Type and link to it.
