Transfer Horizons

The Transfer Horizons dialog allows you to transfer horizons from one line to another. This is particularly useful when you have 2D lines that overlap a 3D volume or two 3D volumes that overlap. The Transfer Horizons application will move horizon picks from one line to another, placing the pick on the closest trace (within the search radius) the other line.

General Information

Seismic Lines

Available Seismic Lines

Use this list to select the Source and Destination lines for the horizon transfer.   Left click to select a seismic line, left click while pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard to select multiple seismic lines, or select a group of lines from the Basemap.   To help you make your seismic line selections, you can sort any column by left clicking on the column header, you can apply a filter (), or you can type a search string into the search bar to limit the list using Name or Ownerinformation.

For additional selection and navigation options right click on the Seismic Lines fileslist to access the shortcut menu.

Include SEG-P lines: Select this option to include SEG-P lines in the line list. Most users do not have interpretation attached to their SEG-P lines, but if you do you will want this item checked.

Source

The list of seismic lines that you want source picks to be transferred from. The seismic lines can be moved back to the original list using the selection arrows.

Destination

The list of seismic lines that you want picks transferred to. The seismic lines can be moved back to the Available list using the selection arrows.

Horizons

Select the horizons that you want to transfer. Left click to select a horizon, or left click and press the Ctrl key on your keyboard to select multiple horizons. To help you make your horizon selections, you can sort any of the columns by left clicking on the column header, you can apply a filter (), or you can type a search string into the search bar to limit the list based on Name, Type,or Ownerinformation.

For additional selection options right click on the Horizons fileslist to access the shortcut menu.

Transfer Properties

This is a list of parameters controlling how horizons are transferred.

Search Radius: This controls how far to search for a pick to transfer to the destination line. The search radius is specified in the surface units of the project (either meters or feet). If there is a source pick within this distance, the destination pick will receive a value. Regardless of what this parameter is set to, the closest source pick will always be used for the destination horizon.

Fill Mode: Determine how to transfer picks to the destination.

Fill gaps only:This will only transfer horizons to the destination lines where a pick does not already exist. If a horizon value already exists in the destination it will not be overwritten.

Overwrite original picks:This will transfer a pick to the destination horizon even if there is already a horizon value for that trace, as long as it is within the Search Radius.

Polygons

Polygons: Open the Select Polygons dialog to select inclusion or exclusion polygons to define the limits of the horizon transfer.
