Field Development Tool: Getting Started
Use the sections below as you begin working with the Field Development Tool.
If you are using a standalone version of Field Development Tool, when you open the software click
to open the Create New Project dialog box to create a new project using the default settings.
If you are using an integrated version of Field Development Tool from the Project menu on the Main Launcher, select New.
If you are using a standalone version of Field Development Tool, from the File menu in the Pad Plan 2D window, select Import Data.
If you are using an integrated version of Field Development Tool use the import tools accessed from the data type menu options on the Main Launcher.

Add well, culture, grid, and raster data to the default scene from the Data Selection dialog box.

Use the Object Properties dialog box to adjust the properties of the data items being displayed.

Define a target zone in Target Properties. The target determines where the horizontal portion of each well will be placed. Select a depth grid and then optionally select a culture layer, such as a land or target boundary, to restrict the horizontal extents of the wells associated with the target.

Create a well pad template in the Template Builder window. This template can be "stamped" in the Pad Plan 2D window. If you create multiple templates they will be available in every new scene and field plan that you create within the project.

In the Pad Plan 2D window, "stamp" the well pad. As you stamp the template one or multiple times you will see the compiled statistics in the Statistics dialog box.

Open the scene in the Pad Plan 3D window to view the scene in 3D space.

Use the editing tools to in the Pad Plan 2D window to edit the well pads and view the results in 3D space.
