Export Culture

The Export Culture application allows you to export culture layers.

General Information

Culture Layers List

Select the culture layers that you want to export. Left click to select a culture layer, and use the Ctrl key on your keyboard to select multiple layers. To make layer selection easier you can sort any of the columns by left clicking on the column header, you can apply a filter (), or you can type a search string into the search bar to limit the list based on Name, or Owner information.

For additional selection and navigation options right click on the Culture Layers list to access the shortcut menu.

Select All: A quick way to select all the culture layers for export.

Output File Type

Select the type of file to export.

DXF: This is the export format from AutoCad, but a wide range of other products also import files in the format.  It is one of the most common formats for culture.  It is not a particularly rich format, so some of the feature you see on the map may be lost in the export.

Photon ASCII: This is the export format from SeisX.  Use it to export culture back to SeisX projects.

Columnar ASCII: This is the export format for column delimited files.  These files can be opened in excel.

ZMAP+: Exports ASCII formats to import into ZMAP+.

Shape File: Exports ESRI Shapefiles.

Surfer BLN: Exports polygons to an ASCII file that can be imported into Surfer.

Extents

Specify the extents for export.

Include all objects (default): Include all objects in the selected culture.

Restrict objects using polygons: Use inclusion or exclusion polygons to define the export region.

Restrict objects to this area: Include objects only within the specified rectangular area. Alternatively, click the Select From Map button and drag a rectangular region on Basemap to select a rectangle.

Export File Parameters

Export as latitude/longitude: Specify whether exported locations are in map units or in latitude/longitude.

Export File: Enter the name and destination of the export file. The default location for the file will be in the project folder. Click to select a destination file to overwrite.
