Data Filters: Filter Editor

The Filter Editor window is used to select the data that you want included in your data filter. Data can be selected manually from the list of available items, using a search, using an existing filter, or using a columnar ASCII file.

Filter Information

Filter Name: Enter a name for the filter.

Description: Enter a description for the filter.

Select Data

Select the data you want included in the filter. Left click to select a single piece of data, or left click while pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard to select multiple pieces of data, and then use the selection arrows to move the data to the Selected list. Wells and seismic lines can be selected directly from the Basemap.  To help you make your data selections, you can sort any column by left clicking on the column header, you can apply a filter (), or you can type a search string into the search bar to limit the items in the list.

Note: The Area of Interest Filters and User Filters are applied to the data available in the Filter Editor before you make your selections.

Import

You can use a columnar ASCII file to select the data items you want to include in your filter. Files can include data name and owner information.

Import: Once you have selected a file and defined the necessary columns, use this button to import the list. Any data items in your projects that match the items in the import file will move automatically to the Selected list. You can then modify the list of data items, or save the filter and return to the Data Filters window.

Select File: Select the columnar ASCII file that contains the list of data items you want to import.

Define Columns: Once you have selected a columnar ASCII file, define the columns in the file. You can define columns for the data type, owner, or both data type and owner. If you define columns for data type and owner, data will only be included if it matches both values.
