Field Development Tool: Object Tree

The Object Tree dialog box, available in the in the Pad Plan 2D and Pad Plan 3D windows, is used to select data items to display and turn data items on and off. When you open Field Development Tool for the first time, the tree will display a data folder for each data type, but the folders will not contain any data. Note: When you add and reorder data folders, or add data objects to the Object Tree in the Pad Plan 2D or Pad Plan 3D window, the changes are reflected in both windows with the exception of turning data items on and off.

Shortcut Menu Options

The following options can be selected from the shortcut menus in the Object Tree dialog box, opened by right clicking on any folder or object in the tree. Note: Not all options are available for all folders or data types. Options that aren't available for the selected folder or object will be grayed out or not present in the list.

Data Selection: Open the Data Selection dialog box and add or remove data objects from the scene tree.

Show All: Show all of the in the data items in the selected folder in the display window.

Hide All: Hide all of the in the data items in the selected folder in the display window.

Remove All: Remove all of the data items in the selected folder from the scene. The empty folder will remain associated with the scene.

Add Folder: Add a Grids, Wells, Culture, Well Pads, or Rasters folder to the scene. After you add the folder you can rename it to easily identify its contents. Once you add a folder it will be available in the Data Selection dialog box and you can add data objects to the folder.

Expand All: Expands all folders beneath the selected item.

Collapse All: Collapses all folders beneath the selected item.

Go to: Center the display on the selected data object(s).

Reorder: Change the layer order of the folder or data object in the scene tree. Select Move Up, Move Down, Move to Top, or Move to Bottom.

Remove : Remove a data item from the scene. You can add data back to the scene from the Data Selection dialog box.

Rename: Rename the data folder.

Well Pad Shortcut Menu Options

The following shortcut menu options are only available for Well Pads folders or objects within the Well Pads folders.

Delete All Well Pads: Permanently delete all of the well pads in the selected folder. The data item will no longer be available.

Copy Well Pads to Clipboard/Copy to Clipboard: Copy the well data points for all of the well pads within the folder to the clipboard to paste them in another application. The data will include Name, Level, Side, Leg, Leg Name, X, Y, XOffset,YOffset, TVD, Azimuth, and Inclination.

Export: Launches an export dialog with various options.

Control Points: Create a comma delimited ASCII file containing the data points for the surface locations, kick off point (KOP), end of build (EOB), heel, toe, and any inserted or edited points.

Locations: Create a comma delimited ASCII file containing the data points for the surface and bottom locations, TVD, KB, and Current Status.

Surveys: Create a comma delimited ASCII file containing the deviated path of the well pads. This will include the offsets, azimuth, inclination, and dog leg.

Export mid-point: Users can choose to export the mid-point of their well pad legs. The mid-point for central legs will be between the end of bend and end of leg. The mid-point for outer legs will be between the end of turn and end of leg.

Generate interpolated points between heel and toe: Users can choose a spacing distance for wells that only have heel and toe points. Note: This option is only available when exporting Surveys.

Shapefile: Create a shape file of the well pads.

Output File: Specify the name and location of the exported *.csv file.

Delete: Permanently delete the selected data object. The data item will no longer be available.

Move to: Move highlighted well pads from one folder to another.

Duplicate to: Creates a duplicate of the selected well pads in a new folder. These duplicates are unrelated to the original pad, and can be modified with out affecting the original.
