Attach Seismic Files

The Attach Seismic Files application allows you to attach existing SeisWare format SEG-Y and slice files to a project without having to reload them.

General Information

Files to Attach

Files...: Use a browse window to select files to attach to the project.

Remove All: Remove all seismic files from the list.

Remove: Remove the highlighted seismic files from the list.

File List:Allows you to load in a text file that contains a list of files. Two different types of files can be loaded:

Text Files:The text file should be a simple text file that contains the full path name of a list of files to load. Each file should be on a separate line.

Photon map.pha fileThis text file is a Photon ASCII text file named map.pha. This only works if the SEG-Y files are in the same location as was specified in the file.

Attach Options

Add to working set:Select this option to add the selected files to the working set. The working set is the list of current versions of a file that will be used by default.

Attach inactive:Select this option when attaching 2D files that do not yet have location information (X and Y values). First attach the files and then use SEG-P Import to load the location information. If the files do not yet contain location information the map may perform poorly. Normally this option is not selected.

Vertical Units:Specify the vertical dimension the trace data in the files. This will be either Milliseconds, Meters or Feet. This option allows you to specify the measurement units of depth seismic which is not defined in the SEG-Y file.

Options: Opens an Options dialog box. This dialog allows the user to set parameters for use in the attach process. Normally this dialog is not needed.

Maximum speed: This is the default option. Normally you will leave this option set. It will produce much quicker intersection calculations.

Maximum precision: This option will use a more precise algorithm to attempt to calculate line intersections, but will run much more slowly. This option is almost never needed. If you find that an intersection has been missed, reattach the one line with the missing intersection using this option. It is not necessary to reattach all lines, only the one with the missing intersection.

View Log: View the error log after a failed attach operation. The log is only generated after attaching and will contain a list with the files that could not be attached to the project and the errors encountered. You can save the error log to a text file using the  button. Note: CDP and shot sequence errors are just warnings and will not affect the data coming in.
