Well Import: Velocity Curve Parameters

The Velocity curve Parameters page of the Well Import wizard allows you to specify additional parameters when importing velocity curves, or creating them from sonic or density curves.

UWI: Specify the a UWI for the velocity curve.  This parameter is only enabled when importing velocity curves from a columnar ASCII file.  It will only be enabled if there is no UWI defined in the columns.

Velocity Curve Name: Specify a name for the velocity curve.  This parameter is only enabled when importing velocity curves from a columnar ASCII file.  The parameter is enabled if there is no name defined in the columns of the file.

Depth Units: Specify the depth units for the velocity curve.  This parameter is only enabled when importing velocity curves from a columnar ASCII file.

Seismic Datum: This is a project wide seismic datum and will not normally be changed once it has been set.  It specifies the depth at the top of a seismic section.  This is used to determine the bulk shift when displaying tops and curves on the seismic.

Replacement Velocity: This is the velocity that is used for times and depths appearing above the first entry of the velocity curve.  Along with the seismic datum this value will determine a bulk shift when drawing curves on a seismic section.
