Well Import: Directional Survey Parameters

The Directional Survey Parameters page of the Well Import wizard allows you to specify additional parameters when importing directional surveys from a columnar ASCII file.

UWI Override

UWI: Specify the a UWI for the directional survey. This item is only enabled if there is no UWI defined in the columns.

Unit Parameters

Positional Offset Units:Specify the units for surface (i.e. non-depth) offsets.

Depth Units: Specify the units for depth values in the columnar file.

Offset Reference

Specify how the EW Offset and NS Offset are referenced against map units. This item is not used if EW Offset and NS Offset are not defined in the columns.

True north: Offsets are referenced against true north.

Grid north: Offsets are referenced against grid north (or the easting of the project's coordinate system). This will often be the case when using a GPS device to measure offsets.

Azimuth Reference

Specify how the Azimuth value is referenced against map units. This item is not used unless the Azimuth is defined in the columns.

True north: The azimuth angle is referenced against true north.

Grid north: The azimuth angle is referenced against grid north (or the easting of the project's coordinate system). This will often be the case when using a GPS device to measure the azimuth.
