Editing Tools

You can skew and resize multiple objects at once using an editing circle. After clicking the icon, follow the directions below to use the editing tool.

Define Circle for Editing:Create a circle that will define the region of influence for your editing operations. Place your cursor () anywhere on the map, click and drag to create a circle, and then release the mouse when the circle is the right size. Once you've created the circle, you can use the  Drag and Move Contours and Drag, Move and Resize Contours tools to edit your culture objects.

Drag and Move Contours: With an editing circle defined, move your cursor () and the editing circle to the nodes that you want to move. Click and drag the circle, and release the mouse when you're happy with the new location of your nodes. Note that this doesn't crop culture objects.

Drag, Move and Resize Contours: With an editing circle defined, move your cursor () and the editing circle to the nodes that you want to move and resize. As you click and drag the circle, the nodes will be moved, and the circle will be enlarged based on the amount of movement. Release the mouse when you're happy with the new location and size of the objects.

Smooth and Resample Object: Select an object and then click the icon. In the Smoothing Distance dialog box, enter the distance in map units that you want between object nodes. When you click the object will be redrawn using this distance between nodes. This tool is useful to reduce the number of nodes on objects that were drawn freehand, and for contours.
