Culture Editing
You can create and edit culture using the Culture
Editor Toolbar. To open the toolbar, click the Edit Culture icon () on
the Basemap,
press the keyboard shortcut C while
the Basemap is active, or select Edit Culture from the Edit
menu of the Basemap.
Culture includes lines, rectangles, ellipses, polygons, and freehand
objects, as well as text and symbols. Each culture layer can contain
multiple objects, which can be a combination of these elements. You can
customize the appearance of existing and new culture objects using the Culture Common Toolbar, the Culture Text Toolbar, and the Culture Line Toolbarwhich
become available after drawing or selecting a culture object.

Click
and complete the dialog to create a new culture layer.

Use the drawing tools to add a line, polygon, symbol or text object to the layer.

Modify the object's attributes using the Culture Common Toolbar, the Culture Text Toolbar, and the Culture Line Toolbar.

Right click the mouse to deselect the object.

Add additional objects to the layer using the drawing tools and toolbars.

Click
to save the culture layer, and close the Culture Editing Toolbar.

Click
and select the layer and object you want to edit.

Edit the object by resizing, rotating or relocating it in edit mode, by moving, adding or deleting individual nodes in point edit mode, or stretching and skewing multiple objects.

Modify the object's attributes using the Culture Common Toolbar, the Culture Text Toolbar, and the Culture Line Toolbar.

Right click the mouse once or twice to deselect the object.

Edit other objects in the layer.

Click
to save the culture layer, and close the Culture Editing Toolbar.
