Grid Tools: Grid Preferences
The Grid Preferences dialog box is used to control how grids are displayed in the 3D View window. To open the Grid Preferences dialog box, from the View menu in the 3D View window, select Grid Preferences, or from theOptions menu in the Surface Display and Data dialog box, select Grid Preferences.
Display Options
Show Grid: Determine the vertical extents of the grid in the 3D display.
Inside VOI Box: Restrict the grid display to the defined VOI (volume of interest) as defined in the Limits dialog box.
Unrestricted by Z: Do not restrict the grid display, even when it falls outside the VOI (volume of interest).
Use Faults: Display faults on the surface.
Fill Faults: When Use Faults is turned on, turn this on to fill the faults using the Fill Color parameter defined in the Fault Edit Controls dialog box opened from the Map View window.
Display Point Set overlays as textures: When this option is turned on, point set overlays are displayed as textures. This may increase performance, but resolution varies. When this option is turned of, point set overlays are gridded. This option is slower but provides better resolution.
Display Surface Mesh as Orthogonal Mesh: Display the surface as mesh.
Elevation Options
Color Spectrum: The name of the default color spectrum used when the Color Overlay is set to Elevation. Click on the spectrum to open the Color Spectrum Manager.
Dynamic (Only use spectrum colors): Turn this on to allow the spectrum range to adjust to the data range when the numeric range of the spectrum you are displaying is much larger than the numeric range of the data you are displaying.
