Cross Section Viewer: Object Tree

The Object Tree is where you can load data, and quickly turn data items on and off. When you first open the Cross Section Viewer, and load a cross section, only the wells in the cross section will be populated. The add more data items - like surfaces and grids, right click on any folder and select Data Selection to launch the Data Selection dialog box. From there you can add and remove data objects. To add log tracks, simple right click anywhere in the main display area, and select Add Log Tracks.

Once data is in your scene, you can also quickly turn then on and off for display using the toggles. You can also select them in the Object Tree (and in the main display area) to see the Object Properties to further customize your display.

The Object Tree has folders by data type:

Cross Section: This is the top level folder and there can only be one for the entire view. This contains the main settings for the cross section like the Projection distance and spacing. See all the settings in the Object Properties for the Cross Section

Wells: This is the list of displayed wells in the cross section. You can chose to add/remove specific wells by right clicking and opening the Data Selection dialog. If you are working with a well to well cross section, some wells will show an "S" meaning that it was selected purposefully in the creation of the cross section. The other wells are simply projected onto the line using the projection distance parameters.

Tracks: These tracks are defined by the Tracks area below. In them you will see any logs or zones that have been defined for display in the tracks.

Logs: These are the specific logs that are associated with the parent well that sits above them. The specific Logs can have their properties customized using the Object Properties.

Zones: These are the specific zone that are associated with the parent well that sits above them. The zones inherit their properties from the Zones folder below.

Tops: These are the specific tops that are associated with the formations selected for display using the surface selection.

Surfaces: These are the specific formations that can be selected for display. Once they are selected using the Data Selection dialog, you will be able to see both the tops associated with the formation on the wells bores as well as a correlated surface that is a real time generated grid. For settings on how the grid is generated and for the look of the markers, go to the Surface Object Properties.

Tracks: These can either be log tracks that contain a specified log for display, or a depth track with a depth scale. Right click on the folder and select "Add Log.." or "Add Depth Track" depending on the type of track desired.

The Log Track can be added using a specific log name, a curve alias or a type. Once the log track is added, customize the look using the Log Track Object Properties.

Grids: These are grids that can be selected for display. Once selected using the Data Selection dialog, you will be able to see a grid surface shown as a line across the cross section. You can also turn on grids for use in the Datum dialog.

Zones: These are zones that are displayed depending on the Display Zones List that is selected. Once selected, customize in the Zones Object Properties. Note: Zone colors are determined based on the properties of the displayed zones list.
