3D View Tools: Extrapolation Controls
The Extrapolation Controls dialog box allows you to access the Extrapolation Method, Extrapolation Buffer, and Hull Connectivity controls, used to determine how far to extend the edges of a surface past known data points. To open the Extrapolation Controls dialog box, from the Surface Display and Data dialog box, click in the Extrapolation Method, Extrapolation Buffer, or Hull Connectivity cells.
Extrapolation Method: Select an extrapolation method to determine if and how the edges of a surface are extended.
None: Surfaces are not extended past know data points.
Hull: The edges of the surface are extended based on the Extrapolation Buffer and Hull Connectivity values.
AOI Edge: The surface fills the area of interest (AOI) as defined on the Display tab of the Limits dialog box.
Extrapolation Buffer: When using the Hull method, the distance from a known data point the grid should be extended.
Hull Connectivity: When using the Hull method, this determines the shape of the boundary relative to the position of the know data points. The higher the value, the smoother the edge between widely spaces data points.
Apply to All: Apply the extrapolation controls to all of the surfaces on the current tab. You can apply the same extrapolation settings to all of the surfaces by clicking on the Extrapolation Method header, however this method allows you to also specify the variables.
