3D View Tools: 3D Map View Options

The Map View in 3D Box tool allows you to display elements from the Map View window, and seismic data, as a single surface in the 3D display, allowing you to better orient your view, and recognize correlations. The surface is placed at the minimum depth specified in on the Display tab in the Limits dialog box. .To open the 3D Map View Options dialog box, from the View menu select Map View in 3D Box.

Data Options

Select the data items you want to display on your map surface.

Select All: Select all of the available data types and display options.

Deselect All: Deselect all of the available data types and display options.

Mesh: Display grid lines. The extents of the grid lines are determined by the area of interest (AOI) specified on the Display tab in the Limits dialog box. The surface is placed at the minimum depth specified in the same dialog box.

Grid: Display the surface currently being displayed in the Map View window.

Faults: Display the fault polygons currently being displayed in the Map View window.

Well Locations: Display the paths of the wells currently selected in the Map View window.

Selected wells: Display a bottom hole symbol for the wells currently selected in the Map View window.

Cross Section: Display a line representing the cross sections currently being displayed in the Map View window.

Cross Section Tracker: Show the position of the cursor in the Cross Section window.

Seismic Options

If you have seismic data loaded, you can overlay seismic data on your 3D map display.

Annotation: Specify the increments for seismic annotation for both lines and traces.

Survey/Volume/Data: Turn on the elements you want to display, and then use the slider bar to adjust the opacity of each element. Click on the color field to open the Color Table and select or change the color of each element.

Mesh Color: Click on the color field to open the Color Table and select or change the line color of the background mesh.
