Time/Depth Velocity Modeling: Layer Details Polygon Options

The Polygon Options tab in the Layer Details dialog box is used to select the polygons that you want applied when performing the calculation for the layer currently selected in the Layers dialog box.

Polygon Control

Place a check mark next to Constraining polygons, Clearing polygons, or Fault Polygons, and click  to open the Select Polygons dialog box.

Constraining Polygons:Use a polygon to select the seed points for the grid. If using an inclusion polygon, only the seed points within the polygon will be used to create the grid. If using an exclusion polygon only the seed points not within the polygon will be used. This polygon will not affect the size or shape of the output grid.

Optional Clearing Polygons:Use a polygon to define the bound of the output grid. This is applied after the gridding is complete.  If using an inclusion polygon, everything outside of the polygon will be removed from the grid. If using an exclusion polygon, everything within the polygon will be removed from the grid.

Optional Fault Polygons:Use a polygon to define fault regions. Seed data points are ignored if they are on the other side of a fault boundary.
