Time/Depth Velocity Modeling: Customizing the Display

The Time/Depth Velocity Modeling application used 6 dialog boxes to help you perform your calculation and analyze the results. These can be moved, resized, and minimized to help you get the most from your display.

Turning Dialog Boxes On and Off

You can turn each of the dialog boxes on or off with the exception of the Layers dialog box, which is always on.

How do I turn an individual dialog box off or on From the View menu, select the dialog that you want to turn off or on. A check mark next to the dialog box name indicates that it is turned on.
How do I turn a dialog box off Click the Close icon () on the top right corner of the dialog box. 
How do I reset dialog boxes From the View menu, select Revert To Default View.

Resizing Dialog Boxes

Resize dialog boxes to make the most of the window space.

How do I resize a dialog box Place your cursor between two dialog boxes. When the cursor becomes  a line with two arrows (), click and drag.

Hiding Dialog Boxes

Hiding a dialog box removes it from your view, but allows you to access it when needed. Hidden dialog boxes appear as tabs on the edge of the window.


How do I hide a dialog box? Click the Auto Hide icon ().  at the top right of the dialog box.  It will now appear as a tab at the edge of the window.
How do I view a hidden dialog box? Hover your cursor over the dialog box tab. When you want to hide it the dialog box, move your cursor to an area outside of the dialog box.
How do I use a hidden dialog box? Hover your cursor over the dialog box tab. Use the tools within the dialog box. When you are finished, click another area in the window.
How do I reveal a hidden dialog box? Hover your cursor over the dialog box tab. Click the Auto Hide icon (). The dialog box will be placed in the same location as when it was hidden.

Moving Dialog Boxes

You can place dialog boxes in any location within your window, or they can float.

How do I undock a dialog box? Place your cursor on the title bar, and then click and drag the dialog box to a new location. If you release the mouse without using the docking tools described below, the dialog box will not be docked within the window.
How do I dock a floating dialog box? Double click on the title bar. The dialog box will be placed in the same location as when it was un-docked. To place it in a new location, used one of the tools described below.

As you move the dialog box in the window, you will see thumbnail images that will help you place it in the right location. Place your cursor over the image, and release.
