Seismic Viewer: File Menu
The following options are available from the File menu in the Seismic Viewer. You can also access some of these features from the shortcut menu, or using the keyboard shortcut displayed to the right of some options on the menu.
File Menu Options
Open Properties:Loads predefined viewer settings from a saved text file.
Save Properties:Writes all of the current Seismic Viewer settings to a text file that can be opened at a later time.
Load Seismic: Loads a SEG-Y file into the Seismic Viewer. You can also use this option to load SEG-Y data that hasn't been loaded into a project if you just wanted to view the data. Note: Wells do not display on lines that are simply loaded into the viewer.
Load Slice File:Loads a .SLICE file (slice) into the Seismic Viewer for display.
Load Segment File: Loads a saved segment file into the viewer.
Save Segment File: This allows you to save the currently displayed seismic to a file. It contains the seismic selection used for display. This file can then be selected from the map and quickly redisplayed. Often used when trying to redisplay a specific arbitrary traverse on a 3D survey.
EBCDIC Header:Quickly display the EBCDIC header for the seismic section.
File Properties: The File Properties dialog displays a few basic properties of the various seismic sections being displayed in the viewer.
Clone:Creates a duplicate display of the current Seismic Viewer. It will launch a new Seismic Viewer that is identical to the current display. Useful when comparing different versions of the same line, and used in conjunction with the talk/listen features.
Versions/Overlays:Launches the Versions/Overlays dialog allows you to change the version of a file or the overlay being displayed in the viewer without having to reselect the seismic. You can also quickly access this by right clicking in the main area of the Seismic Viewer.
Print:Prints the current Seismic Viewer.
Print Preview: Launches the Print Preview for the Seismic Viewer.
Page Setup:Launches the Print Setup dialog that can be used to change any page/printer settings.
Print Properties:Launches the Print Properties dialog that allows the user to configure various parameters for hard copy plotting. The dialog contains four pages which define all properties for hard copy plots. This first page defines general side label properties.
Print to Metafile: This allows you to send the plot to a Windows Enhanced Metafile (.emf) file. Metafiles are high resolution scalable files that can be inserted into many different types of document viewers such as Microsoft PowerPoint.
Print to Bitmap File: This allows you to send the plot to a Windows bitmap (*.bmp) file. Bitmap files are raster images that can be viewed and edited in a wide range of image editing applications. Bitmap files can also be sent as email attachments, although normal seismic displays may yield files that are too large to email. Typical email limits are ten megabytes.
Recent File:Not yet implemented.
Exit:Close the Seismic Viewer.
