Time/Depth Velocity Modeling: Contour Options

The Contour Options tab in the Time/Depth Properties dialog box used to define the default contouring parameters for the output grids. The options can be set independently for each grid type. You can override these parameters for any individual grid from the Gridding/Contour Options tab in the Layer Details dialog box.

Grid Type Selection

Display Default Contouring Options For: Set the default contour options for each grid type (time, velocity, depth, and compaction).

Generate Contours

Generate Contours: Turn this on to generate contours for each of the output grids. The contour options will only become available when this is turned on.

Smoothing

Smoothing: Select the smoothing technique for the generated contours.

Regular Contours

Enter the parameters for the regular contours.

Color: Select the color of the normal contour line.

Interval: Enter the interval of the regular contours in grid units.

Width: Enter the width of the normal contour in pixels.

Thick Contours

Enter the parameters for the thick contours.

Color: Select the color of the thick contour line.

Interval: Enter the interval of the thick contours in grid units. This should me a multiple of the regular contour interval. When a thick interval coincides with a regular interval, the parameters of the thick interval will be used.

Width: Enter the width of the thick interval in pixels. This value should be larger than the regular contour width.

Generate Contour Labels

Enter the parameters for the contour labels.

Labeling Font: Select the font.

Labeling Size: Enter the label size in Fixed Size (inches) or Variable Size (map units).

Labeling Interval: Enter the interval for the contour labels in grid units. This interval needs to match the interval for the regular or thick contours.

Distance Between Labels: Enter the distance along the contour in map units that the label should appear.

Number of Decimals:Enter the number of decimal places to be used for the contour labels.
