Seismic Viewer: Correlation Polygons

Correlation polygons are initiated using the Correlation Polygon icon () on the Seismic Toolbar. Once selected, you can define the polygon that can then be moved around the seismic to visually correlate different areas.

Define a Correlation Polygon
  1. Click the Correlation Polygon icon.

  2. On the seismic display, left click to start the polygon selection. As you move your cursor a tracking line will follow your cursor as you draw.

  3. Keep left clicking to add more node points in the polygon. Note that the last node selected is always connected to the first.

  4. Right click to finish the polygon definition and exit the correlation polygon mode.

Cancel the Correlation Polygon Mode

  1. Press the Esc key on your keyboard.

Move a Polygon

  1. Make sure you have finished defining the polygon.

  2. Select the polygon by left clicking on it so it becomes highlighted.

  3. Click and drag while holding down the mouse button to reposition.

  4. When you release your mouse button the polygon will be dropped into place.

Rotate a Polygon

  1. Make sure you have finished defining the polygon.

  2. Select the polygon by left clicking on it so it becomes highlighted.

  3. Press Alt on your keyboard.

  4. Click and rotate the polygon.

Delete a Polygon

  1. Select the polygon by left clicking on it so it becomes highlighted.

  2. Hit the Delete key on your keyboard to remove it from the seismic display.

Undo an Edit

  1. While in correlation polygon mode, from the Edit Menu select Undo to erase the last node picked. You can also use the hot key Ctrl + Z.
