Getting Started: Well Planning

How do I create a new well plan in the Well Planning dialog box?

To open the Well Planning dialog box, from the Well menu on the Main Launcher, select Well Planning. From this dialog box you can create a new well plan, or modify an existing plan.

Create a New Well Plan

1. Click to create a row in the Well Planning table. Manually enter the X and Y values, and any other information you have, and then press Enter on your keyboard. Depending on the fields completed, other fields may auto calculate. 

2. Continue adding points to complete the well plan.

3. To save the plan, from the File menu, select Save Well to associate the file with an existing well, or Save File to save the file as a spreadsheet.

Load and modify an existing well plan

1. From the File menu, select Load Well, and then select an existing direction survey file. Note: Ensure the "Elevation" field is changed to the correct KB elevation so that the subs ea values are calculated properly.

2. Modify any of the values in the rows, and press Enter of the keyboard after every change.

3. To save the plan, from the File menu, select Save Well to associate the file with an existing well, or Save File to save the file as a spreadsheet.
